We seem to have had quite a week around the Milner house. Jessica left for Galveston with her friends on Sunday at noon, missed us, and was back at our house by early Wednesday morning. (and do I mean early!) She showed up on the doorstep at 12:30 AM. Alyssa started feeling like she was getting a bladder infection on Sunday evening. A quick trip to the drugstore at 9:30 that night and then I doctored her up with Benedine and gave her Cranberry juice. She was feeling better on Monday but then on Tuesday morning started feeling bad again. Of course, I called the doctor and told them that she had a bladder infection and they wouldn't prescribe something until they saw her. .....................And they see her and guess what?? She has a bladder infection! Duh! So now we have medication and she is feeling MUCH better. Now, Glenn has come down with a rash which kept him up most of the night. He went to the doctor today and has to take medication to see if they can get rid of it. I am re...

I had such a great day today! I got to go to the Urban Retreat Spa for the whole day. Compliments of my brother, I got to get a facial, massage, sea salt body scrub, hot stone spa pedicure and spa manicure. It was so nice and they ALMOST had to SLIDE me out of there! The only thing I haven't had before was the sea salt scrub.......very unique, but not sure if I would do it again. That lady saw more of me than anyone else has seen in years! .....and it was very messy! Alyssa went to a sleepover party for Alyssa Holik. She stayed up pretty late last night and is very tired tonight. She stepped on something out in the yard last night. All the girls were barefoot but Alyssa is the only one that stepped on something........isn't that just how it always works out?? Anyway, it looks like it must have been a pinecone or nettle plant.....she has lots of little red dots all over the underside of her foot. Jessica is packing to go to Galveston for the week with her "twin" friend...

We officially made it to the first weekend of Summer vacation! The last day of school was on this past Friday. School went until 10:30 am.............I say, why bother?? The kids went to Mass and then had their awards ceremony and their classroom parties. Jessica and Alyssa both made the A/B honor roll!! (but mostly A's!!!) They also both made perfect attendance for the year. ......And, Jessica hasn't missed a day of school the entire time she has been at St. Ambrose......that's 7 years total!! Wow, Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1-5th!! Before and after pictures of Jess on hi-light day Yay!! Looking forward to a long weekend! I was able to get off of work early, pick up the kids and get started on our weekend a little sooner than expected. Glenn got off early, grilled some chicken and then we all swam in the pool for awhile. Today, Jessica went to get her hi-lights done at Judi's and they turned our really natural looking............just what I wanted. I figure that the time in the pool this summer will lighten them up a bit more so I didn't want to get anything drastic looking done. She also got her haircut updated and now the hair stays out of her eyes - which is a bonus for me!! Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the day when I first started noticing that something was wrong with me before I was diagnosed with Leukemia. I am thinking about posting some kind of rememberance story about everything I went through back then. I just have to figure out how I will go about doing that within this same bl...

Well, I'm a little late with this post, but the Birthday Luau party was a blast! I think all of the girls had a great time. I counted 15 little girls, 6 older girls, and 15 adults..........that's quite a large group! Jess and her friends, along with Brianna and Cailin really helped watch the younger girls so that I could tend to everything else. The grilled chicken and beef skewers and fruit kabobs were a hit with everyone. Alyssa got a lot of nice gifts as well as quite a few gift cards that seem to be burning a hole in her pocket. I guess I know what we'll be doing this weekend. :0) Speaking of this weekend, Jess will be getting her hi-lights on Saturday morning. I'll have to post some before and after pictures of her new hair style. Nothing much planned for the Memorial Weekend..........I think we'll play it by ear and see if it takes us anywhere!

Well, Jessica is now officially a member of the Junior Varsity Cheerleading squad. The school had their last pep rally and they introduced the new squad. They also had the old jv squad, which Brianna & Cailin are on, and they all got to do their special cheers and dances. I went to the school today and took a few pictures of the girls cheering. After that, both girls had birthday parties to attend in the evening. Glenn and I pretty much worked as a "tag" team to get everyone picked up on time. Now we're getting ready for Alyssa's Luau birthday party on Sunday afternoon.............it ought to be really fun!
