Ballet Dance Recital

Image
We went to Alyssa's Ballet Recital on Saturday. The only thing I can say is that it was fabulous! The whole family went and cheered Alyssa on during her dance. She did a routine to "Stand by Me" and did a wonderful job. After the program, we went to Los Cucos for dinner with the family. All in all, it was a fantastic night! Please take a good look at the ballet bun. My original work! Alyssa in Action Perfect form

Alyssa got a BIG surprise for her birthday - A Brand New Laptop! We celebrated Alyssa's birthday again, with a sleepover this time. She invited her two best friends, Abigail and Katherine, and since we were celebrating again, I let Jessica invite over her friend Chelsey......just to contribute to the crazy-ness. Because it's been so warm lately, we decided on a swim party. As well as a sleep-over. The kids played Rock Band and then the older girls and I went to BlockBuster to rent a movie. We picked out two.....The Fourth Kind & Avatar. We started out with The Fourth Kind and ended up turning it off within the first minute. A stabbing in the chest in the first scene was just too much for our little group. We switched to Avatar and everyone was happy. The Three Musketeers - Abigail, Alyssa, and Katherine The Ultimate Summer Activity - Making Smores over a campfire Movie Time Jessica and Chelsey She's "Smokin' Hot!" Mother's Day & Birthdays

Image
This month seems to be flying by. I think that pretty much says it all. I am ready for school to let out so that we might be able to slow things down a bit around our house. This past weekend, we celebrated Mother's Day as well as Alyssa and Guy's birthdays. We had a full house since we invited both sides of the family and I was really tired. This coming weekend, Alyssa will celebrate on her real birthday by inviting over 2 friends to sleep-over. I have also decided to let Jessica invite a friend to sleep-over so that she'll not have any excuses for bothering the younger kids. So, that being said, I am going to have another doozy of a weekend! Next Friday is the 8th grade breakfast and I, along with a few other parents, will be getting food prepared to serve to the 8th grade class. .....like I said before, I'm ready for school to be out. :o) Me and my Mom - I think my whole up-do tells you how hard I had worked RyRy and Rox Glenn - The Grill Master The Birthday Gir...

Jersey Village Gold Dusters Spring Show & Other Stuff

Image
This past week, we were busy with dancing, practices and rehearsals for the Gold Dusters Spring Show. Jessica had her show on Saturday and it turned out really nice. The other dancers were really fantastic, too! Lots of hard work goes into getting ready for a dance! Check out the "do" on Ryan Ethan wearing the "pimp" hat :) The Michael Jackson Stingerett performance Alyssa after a hard work at her ballet class for her dance recital Nana and Mimi have been watching Ethan & Ryan (aka - the boys) while Josh and Roxanne are in LA and then Vegas. We're hoping they won alot of money and can loan us some cash! We'll be knocking on their door when they get home.

It's Official!

As of Sunday, I am officially the mother of a teenager. Wow! I can only hope that the next 5 years go as smoothly as the first 13 did. I can also hope that I don't get paid back for Glenn's wild teenage years. From what I understand, they were doozies!! We celebrated Jessica's big 13th birthday with a family party on Sunday. We had hoped that we would have had enough warm weather to warm the pool up for swimming, but it's been on the cool side during the nights and so the pool was no where near being warm enough to swim in. Well, except for crazy Alyssa who cannon-ba lled into the pool. Jessica got Band Hero for her birthday Alyssa loves to play guitar but even more than that, she loves to sing. I think this is her "Rock Band" face. One of the other things Jessica got for her birthday was a pitching net. Last weekend, we spent Easter at my sister's house and my girls hid Easter eggs for Ethan and Ryan. .......And last but not least......Meet the newest...

Spring!

Image
I do believe that Spring has finally arrived. After a really long and cold winter, it has finally warmed up.....Yay! Because it was so nice this weekend, we were able to work out in the yard and put up the pottery mosaic that Alyssa made at a friends house. We also put up Jessica's new wind-chimes that Granny Laine got her for Easter. Alyssa also got some wind-chimes, but since hers have horses on them, they ended up in her room. I couldn't get my hands on them. My Dad had surgery to remove a tumor from one of his kidneys last Thursday. He's had some complications and hasn't been allowed to leave the hospital yet. We're hoping and praying that he gets to come home real soon. We'll be getting a long weekend for Easter break and I'm planning on enjoying every minute of it. Alyssa's mosaic......she says that the four figures in the center are our family Jessica's froggy windchime We're getting close to finishing......someday I can'...

Spring Break and other things

Image
Last week was Spring Break for the kids and I took Thursday and Friday off from work. No plans off the top of my head, so I was open to ideas. We talked it over and decided we wanted to go to Galveston for an overnight stay. Talked my sister into going with us.....Thanks Donna! I'm probably crazy, but I told both of my girls that they could each invite one friend to go with us. The one thing I forgot about Spring Break week is that the traffic going to Galveston would be really awful. I didn't know the half of it! We hit stop and go traffic (off and on) all the way from our house down to the island and a 1 hour trip ended up taking 2 hours. Anyway, we got down to Galveston around 2 o'clock and we parked in the hotel parking lot and walked over to the beach area across the street. When Donna and Bri and Bri got there (no that's not a typo!), they met us down at the beach and we waited around until our room was ready for check in. We stayed at the Victorian Condos which I...
