It's Another Great Weekend!

I had such a great day today! I got to go to the Urban Retreat Spa for the whole day. Compliments of my brother, I got to get a facial, massage, sea salt body scrub, hot stone spa pedicure and spa manicure. It was so nice and they ALMOST had to SLIDE me out of there! The only thing I haven't had before was the sea salt scrub.......very unique, but not sure if I would do it again. That lady saw more of me than anyone else has seen in years! .....and it was very messy!

Alyssa went to a sleepover party for Alyssa Holik. She stayed up pretty late last night and is very tired tonight. She stepped on something out in the yard last night. All the girls were barefoot but Alyssa is the only one that stepped on something........isn't that just how it always works out?? Anyway, it looks like it must have been a pinecone or nettle plant.....she has lots of little red dots all over the underside of her foot.

Jessica is packing to go to Galveston for the week with her "twin" friends, Ashley and Chelsey. She leaves tomorrow and comes back on Friday. She has all of her swimming suits packed for the beach. It's going to be an awfully quiet week around here with only one kid! Oh yeah, and I don't get to ride the HOV lane into town for the next week. I'll be sitting in Hwy 290 traffic with all the rest of Houston. Blah! :o(

Wow!! Is it that time already????

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am so far behind on writing on my blog and summer vacation is over and school has started!!!!!!! The girls and I went on vacation last week to Galveston Island and stayed at the San Louis hotel, which Jessica only just recently stopped calling it the St. Luis. Donna and Brianna met us there and stayed at the same hotel. The first day, we stopped off at the beach and built sand castles. The second day we went to Moody Gardens Palm Beach and the rest of the time we spent at the hotel pool which was just beautiful! It's Official!

As of Sunday, I am officially the mother of a teenager. Wow! I can only hope that the next 5 years go as smoothly as the first 13 did. I can also hope that I don't get paid back for Glenn's wild teenage years. From what I understand, they were doozies!! We celebrated Jessica's big 13th birthday with a family party on Sunday. We had hoped that we would have had enough warm weather to warm the pool up for swimming, but it's been on the cool side during the nights and so the pool was no where near being warm enough to swim in. Well, except for crazy Alyssa who cannon-ba lled into the pool. Jessica got Band Hero for her birthday Alyssa loves to play guitar but even more than that, she loves to sing. I think this is her "Rock Band" face. One of the other things Jessica got for her birthday was a pitching net. We've Been Robbed!!

The girls and I got home today around 5:00 pm, pulled the car into the garage and then unloaded the groceries that I had picked up earlier. I left the garage door opened as I have every day since I can remember. Around 6:30, we heard tires screeching outside and both girls ran down the stairs to see what it was that was making that horrible sound. We went outside and saw the tire tracks on the street but no cars that we could see. About 2 minutes later, I got a call from Glenn on his cell phone and he said that he was chasing down a truck that had been in front of our house loading up the stuff from the garage! He lost them going into an apartment complex near the house. He said they looked pretty cruddy and they were in an old beat up white truck but he couldn't get close enough to get the license plate number.
