A Look in to 2017


The last time I posted in this blog, Jessica was going to prom and Alyssa had just turned 15.  So, to update, Jessica is now about to finish her second year of college at Texas Women's University in Denton.  She will be coming back home this summer and finishing her last 2 years of nursing school here at TWU in Houston.  We are all really excited to have her be coming back home.   Alyssa is now about to finish 11th grade at JV High School.  Alyssa is in a Health Sciences class this year and goes to CyFair hospital to help out.  She is about to turn 17 next month and will be a SENIOR next year.  Time to start thinking about colleges for my baby girl!

In October of 2016, we moved my mom and dad into a new house closer to Donna and myself.  This has worked out great with being able to see them more regularly and since they have both had some health issues it has been easier for Donna to get them to their doctors appointments.

In December 2016, mom fell and broke her hip.  She had surgery and is now doing much better.  Dad fell and broke his shoulder and had surgery yesterday to replace that.  So now he should be going home today and we will have him back up on his feet in no time at all.

Wow!! Is it that time already????

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am so far behind on writing on my blog and summer vacation is over and school has started!!!!!!! The girls and I went on vacation last week to Galveston Island and stayed at the San Louis hotel, which Jessica only just recently stopped calling it the St. Luis. Donna and Brianna met us there and stayed at the same hotel. The first day, we stopped off at the beach and built sand castles. The second day we went to Moody Gardens Palm Beach and the rest of the time we spent at the hotel pool which was just beautiful! Papa picked the kids up from school since Nana is still in Alaska......we really miss her!! She has been gone for 2 weeks and should be back by Tuesday morning. It's Official!

As of Sunday, I am officially the mother of a teenager. Wow! I can only hope that the next 5 years go as smoothly as the first 13 did. I can also hope that I don't get paid back for Glenn's wild teenage years. From what I understand, they were doozies!! We celebrated Jessica's big 13th birthday with a family party on Sunday. We had hoped that we would have had enough warm weather to warm the pool up for swimming, but it's been on the cool side during the nights and so the pool was no where near being warm enough to swim in. Well, except for crazy Alyssa who cannon-ba lled into the pool. Jessica got Band Hero for her birthday Alyssa loves to play guitar but even more than that, she loves to sing. I think this is her "Rock Band" face. One of the other things Jessica got for her birthday was a pitching net. Last weekend, we spent Easter at my sister's house and my girls hid Easter eggs for Ethan and Ryan. .......And last but not least......Meet the newest

We've Been Robbed!!

The girls and I got home today around 5:00 pm, pulled the car into the garage and then unloaded the groceries that I had picked up earlier. I left the garage door opened as I have every day since I can remember. Around 6:30, we heard tires screeching outside and both girls ran down the stairs to see what it was that was making that horrible sound. We went outside and saw the tire tracks on the street but no cars that we could see. About 2 minutes later, I got a call from Glenn on his cell phone and he said that he was chasing down a truck that had been in front of our house loading up the stuff from the garage! He lost them going into an apartment complex near the house. He said they looked pretty cruddy and they were in an old beat up white truck but he couldn't get close enough to get the license plate number.
