Thanks to everyone who called or emailed to let us know what what they thought of the whole situation. I emailed the HOA to let them know what had happened so that they might let the others in the neighborhood know so that they can be aware of what's going on. I also called the Sheriff's dept but they didn't do anything. We didn't have enough information to file a formal report so he said he would just make some file notes. Needless to say, we won't be leaving our garage door open again any more. Alyssa went to a birthday party this evening and the rest of us went to Chuy's for dinner. The food was pretty good, but the service was horrible. Afterwards, we went back to pick Alyssa and she brought home meal worms.................they will soon turn into biting beatles! I hope to get rid of them waaaaayyyy before that!

We've Been Robbed!!

The girls and I got home today around 5:00 pm, pulled the car into the garage and then unloaded the groceries that I had picked up earlier. I left the garage door opened as I have every day since I can remember. Around 6:30, we heard tires screeching outside and both girls ran down the stairs to see what it was that was making that horrible sound. We went outside and saw the tire tracks on the street but no cars that we could see. About 2 minutes later, I got a call from Glenn on his cell phone and he said that he was chasing down a truck that had been in front of our house loading up the stuff from the garage! He lost them going into an apartment complex near the house. He said they looked pretty cruddy and they were in an old beat up white truck but he couldn't get close enough to get the license plate number. They stole Glenn's electric saw, his new weed eater and his leaf blower that wasn't working very well (too bad!). I am just so glad that he pulled up when

More Days Off!!

The kids are out of school AGAIN, now for 3 more days, because they have parent-teacher conferences Wed & Thurs and then an Inservice on Friday. It's not like they missed enough school due to the hurricane! Granny 'Laine took care of the girls today while I worked. They went to Monkey Biz and to Applebee's for salmon........boy do they love salmon! Yesterday, Alyssa started having abdominal pains on the way to school. It was so bad, that she was moaning and crying and I had to figure out whether or not it was bad enough to have to take her to the ER or if she could hang on until I got a doctor's appointment. My first thought was that it might be appendicitis. I opted to drop Jess off at school and then make a detour to Nana's to wait until the doctor's office opened at 8:30am. I got a 9:30 appointment and by the time I got her there, the pains had subsided. We had her urine tested because she had complained of going to the bathroom really often on Sa
Boy, have I been busy this weekend! I decided that it was way past time that I worked on the kids photo album/scrapbooks, so I did a little shopping to update my materials and jumped right in. It's scary to think that it has been several YEARS since I've actually seriously worked on them. I have lots of pictures but have had no inclination OR time to actually devote to it. I worked on them a little while I was "sick" last summer but didn't make it very far. I think the reason I originally quit working on them was because every time I pulled the stuff out, Jessica wanted to "help" me. It got to be really hard to dodge that so I just quit. Now she has worked on her own scrapbooks and so she doesn't want to help anymore. We didn't watch "The Eye" on Friday night. We ended up watching it on Saturday night after we took the kids to eat at the Taste of Texas. They had never been there and were really impressed by the restaurant.......Thanks G
