Boy, have I been busy this weekend! I decided that it was way past time that I worked on the kids photo album/scrapbooks, so I did a little shopping to update my materials and jumped right in. It's scary to think that it has been several YEARS since I've actually seriously worked on them. I have lots of pictures but have had no inclination OR time to actually devote to it. I worked on them a little while I was "sick" last summer but didn't make it very far. I think the reason I originally quit working on them was because every time I pulled the stuff out, Jessica wanted to "help" me. It got to be really hard to dodge that so I just quit. Now she has worked on her own scrapbooks and so she doesn't want to help anymore.

We didn't watch "The Eye" on Friday night. We ended up watching it on Saturday night after we took the kids to eat at the Taste of Texas. They had never been there and were really impressed by the restaurant.......Thanks Grannylaine for the treat!! (Otherwise, they wouldn't have gotten to go!!)

......Back to "The Eye", we really didn't know what to expect and so there were several spots that we had to close OUR eyes! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but still quite intense, especially watching it with the kids.

I took the kids out this afternoon to the Halloween store and they got to pick out the costumes that they want to wear for Halloween. They both picked out pirate costumes. Jess picked out a traditional pirate costume and Posey picked out something called a Pink Punk Pirate. I looked around for a costume for myself but I think I need to look a bit more. All of us will be going to Brianna's Halloween party......the kids as guests and Glenn and myself as chaperons. Jess wants her dad to go as a policeman so that he can "bust" people at the door! I thought that I MIGHT go as a nun so that I can put the "fear of the Lord" into the Catholic School kids! Ha!

Wow!! Is it that time already????

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am so far behind on writing on my blog and summer vacation is over and school has started!!!!!!! The girls and I went on vacation last week to Galveston Island and stayed at the San Louis hotel, which Jessica only just recently stopped calling it the St. Luis. Donna and Brianna met us there and stayed at the same hotel. The first day, we stopped off at the beach and built sand castles. The second day we went to Moody Gardens Palm Beach and the rest of the time we spent at the hotel pool which was just beautiful! It's Official!

As of Sunday, I am officially the mother of a teenager. Wow! I can only hope that the next 5 years go as smoothly as the first 13 did. I can also hope that I don't get paid back for Glenn's wild teenage years. From what I understand, they were doozies!! We celebrated Jessica's big 13th birthday with a family party on Sunday. We had hoped that we would have had enough warm weather to warm the pool up for swimming, but it's been on the cool side during the nights and so the pool was no where near being warm enough to swim in. Well, except for crazy Alyssa who cannon-ba lled into the pool. Jessica got Band Hero for her birthday Alyssa loves to play guitar but even more than that, she loves to sing. I think this is her "Rock Band" face. One of the other things Jessica got for her birthday was a pitching net. We've Been Robbed!!

The girls and I got home today around 5:00 pm, pulled the car into the garage and then unloaded the groceries that I had picked up earlier. I left the garage door opened as I have every day since I can remember. Around 6:30, we heard tires screeching outside and both girls ran down the stairs to see what it was that was making that horrible sound. We went outside and saw the tire tracks on the street but no cars that we could see. About 2 minutes later, I got a call from Glenn on his cell phone and he said that he was chasing down a truck that had been in front of our house loading up the stuff from the garage! He lost them going into an apartment complex near the house. He said they looked pretty cruddy and they were in an old beat up white truck but he couldn't get close enough to get the license plate number.
