Glenn and I painted our bedroom today and boy, does it look nice! We started first thing this morning but didn't get the walls completed until around 4:00 pm. Tomorrow we will work on the trim work and then we can move back into the bedroom. While we worked on painting the bedroom, the kids stayed busy in there own way. Jessica got out her pottery wheel and made a pumpkin complete with with jewels. Alyssa used modeling clay and made a pumpkin of her own, hollowed it out and she put one of those battery operated flames in it to light it up. Very creative kids!

Fun Day At School

Image
Today was a kind of a spirit day at school. The kids got to wear any St. Ambrose spirit shirt with pajama pants and they all looked really cute. .......See pics from before school. I was able to get off work and go the the pep rally this afternoon and I got to see the introduction of the volleyball players and the football players along with both the Varsity and the Junior Varsity cheerleaders cheer. Because the game this afternoon was for the Varsity players, Jessica didn't get to cheer, but I think Bri did. Tomorrow is D day, or should I say P day since we will be painting. I came home this afternoon and got the bedroom ready and some of the furniture moved.......at least the small stuff! I guess that Glenn and I will be sleeping downstairs tomorrow evening but that is a VERY small sacrifice to be able to actually get the bedroom painted. I can't wait to see how it turns out. I will definitely be decorating over the next few weeks. :) See the video!

It's almost Friday!

It's Thursday evening and I'm looking forward to Friday!! Tomorrow, the kids have another sort of "spirit" day at school. They get to wear a spirit shirt and pajama pants. Because Jess is a cheerleader, she will only get to wear her spirit outfit until right before lunch and then she will have to change into her cheerleading uniform. The pep rally is scheduled for 1:15. I'll try to get off and go, but I make no promises. She did get her poms back and for that I am really grateful. The ones she brought home a few weeks ago were really worn looking. I don't think there are too many games left this year since many schools are still trying to get over the after affects of Hurricane Ike. I think that Glenn and I will be painting our bedroom this weekend. We bought the paint a few weeks ago, but have not gotten around to painting yet. I can't wait! We picked a kind of dark green color (but not too dark) to match a color in our comforter. We will paint the master

More on Mealworms

Image
A note on the mealworms......I'm starting to get a little scared of them. The two that I can see at the moment have gotten really fat and the other 3 or so have disappeared somewhere into the sea of oatmeal. Does this mean that the invisible ones have changed into the pupa stage? How long does this stage last? Am I going to come home to a kitchen full of biting beatles? Does anyone out there know what to expect? Please help! Oh, and DK, I can't believe that Bri never came home with some of these......didn't Ms. Pesce ever send any home with her? Alyssa says that she has told them that she will send some home with them this year. I can only hope that maybe she'll forget.

News From the Doctor

I received news of my bone marrow aspiration from Dr. Faderl on Friday evening. Once again, the molecular results showed positive but he says NOT TO WORRY. Hmmm.....easy for him to say! He said that it was a very low positive reading and he will get the chromosome test back in another 2 weeks. He says that they can do the molecular test on a regular blood draw so they will retest that one when I go back in 3 weeks. I'll TRY not to worry until then. Oh! Good news..........one of the mealworms has already died! I disposed of the body a little while ago. One down, 5 to go! Actually, in the worm state, they do very little but eat and sleep. They are living in a glass bowl in oatmeal and cheerios and carrots. Evidently, they suck the water out of the carrots and eat everything else. I'm shivering as I type!
