Today started out very warm. Too warm if you were to ask me. I got up this morning, stepped outside to get my newspaper and knew it was going to be a really warm day as soon as my bare feet touched the concrete. I decided to brave the Saturday morning crowd of shoppers at Walmart for my weekly shopping. Not as bad as it has been on a Saturday in the past. I was able to get out of there within an hour, get home and unloaded with a little help from the rest of the crew. We decided to do a little yard work since the weeds seemed to be taking over the lawn. I even got the kids out to do a little raking with Glenn and me. Of course, the kids both fought over the rake until our neighbor offered them his. I guess we'll have to invest in another rake, although, I bet as soon as I do, they'll both decide they don't want to rake any longer! I grubbed around in the dirt, pulling weeds most of the afternoon. which I found to be very relaxing. Jessica needed new tennies for scho
We made it to New Years Day..........Last night around midnight, the girls and I stood in the backyard watching all of the fireworks in the sky and right at midnight, Glenn walked through the door.....just in time to ring in the new year! So now it's New Years Day and this is usually the time that we all make our new years resolutions, right? Well, mine are surely the usual........eat better and exercise more. That's it for me! Now if I could just stick with it then all would be right with my world. This morning, I also started thinking about where I was this time last year. Let's see, January 1, 2008 I was getting closer to being finished with my chemo. ......but sadly, I was still a ways off from getting the results that I was looking for. It took until almost April before I could breathe a sigh of relief. In 2008, I finally got to take the Disney World trip that had been postponed the year before. We survived Hurricane Ike and no electricity for several days. Aly

Happy New Years!!

Fireworks! Happy New Years, everyone!!! The girls and I went to the movies this afternoon to see "Marley and Me".........great movie! Of course, I boohoo'd at the end and then Alyssa turned around and said, "Mom! Why are you crying?" My kids, just don't get it. Although Alyssa did say that she thought it was very sad......AND why do people have to make such sad movies. I think she was looking for a happy ending. My kind of gal! This evening, the girls and I met Nana, Donna & Bri, and Jane, Cailin & Katy at Tokyo One. I almost felt guilty for only paying the kids price for the kids since I think they ate as much food as I did. I don't know how it happened but somewhere along the way both of my kids have acquired a liking for shrimp. Doesn't matter how it's cooked, they just really like shrimp. I think we made three trips to the hibachi station for steak and shrimp, just for Alyssa. I also tried some different kinds of sushi that I have ne

Happy New Years Eve!!!

Well, it's not New Years yet, but I might not get around to posting tomorrow so I wanted to get a jump on it. Glenn has to work today and tonight. He worked from home last night updating seating charts and other things for his New Years party tonight. I guess each year the Omni does a different theme for their New Years parties so this year it was "A Night in Paris".....at least I think that was what it was called. I know it had something to do with Paris because he had to find many mini Eiffel Towers to rent for each table. He was outside on Sunday touching up their paint. I think he only found 15 so the other tables had a different centerpiece that he had to go out and find the weekend after Christmas. Anyhow, I won't see him until near midnight tonight.....hopefully before. The girls and I are going to the movies in a little bit to see "Marley and Me". We couldn't talk Nana into going with us since she went to the movies last night to see "Seven
