Happy New Years Eve!!!

Well, it's not New Years yet, but I might not get around to posting tomorrow so I wanted to get a jump on it. Glenn has to work today and tonight. He worked from home last night updating seating charts and other things for his New Years party tonight. I guess each year the Omni does a different theme for their New Years parties so this year it was "A Night in Paris".....at least I think that was what it was called. I know it had something to do with Paris because he had to find many mini Eiffel Towers to rent for each table. He was outside on Sunday touching up their paint. I think he only found 15 so the other tables had a different centerpiece that he had to go out and find the weekend after Christmas.
Anyhow, I won't see him until near midnight tonight.....hopefully before.

The girls and I are going to the movies in a little bit to see "Marley and Me". We couldn't talk Nana into going with us since she went to the movies last night to see "Seven Pounds". Donna, Brian and Bri get back from their trip this afternoon and then we are all going to dinner with the Kavanaghs to celebrate New Years Eve together. I guess there won't be any fireworks this year since we're not going to Jane and Gerry's house. I guess Donna's hair is safe at least until the Fourth of July!!

Wow!! Is it that time already????

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am so far behind on writing on my blog and summer vacation is over and school has started!!!!!!! The girls and I went on vacation last week to Galveston Island and stayed at the San Louis hotel, which Jessica only just recently stopped calling it the St. Luis. Donna and Brianna met us there and stayed at the same hotel. The first day, we stopped off at the beach and built sand castles. The second day we went to Moody Gardens Palm Beach and the rest of the time we spent at the hotel pool which was just beautiful! It's Official!

As of Sunday, I am officially the mother of a teenager. Wow! I can only hope that the next 5 years go as smoothly as the first 13 did. I can also hope that I don't get paid back for Glenn's wild teenage years. From what I understand, they were doozies!! We celebrated Jessica's big 13th birthday with a family party on Sunday. We had hoped that we would have had enough warm weather to warm the pool up for swimming, but it's been on the cool side during the nights and so the pool was no where near being warm enough to swim in. Well, except for crazy Alyssa who cannon-ba lled into the pool. Jessica got Band Hero for her birthday Alyssa loves to play guitar but even more than that, she loves to sing. I think this is her "Rock Band" face. One of the other things Jessica got for her birthday was a pitching net. We've Been Robbed!!

The girls and I got home today around 5:00 pm, pulled the car into the garage and then unloaded the groceries that I had picked up earlier. I left the garage door opened as I have every day since I can remember. Around 6:30, we heard tires screeching outside and both girls ran down the stairs to see what it was that was making that horrible sound. We went outside and saw the tire tracks on the street but no cars that we could see. About 2 minutes later, I got a call from Glenn on his cell phone and he said that he was chasing down a truck that had been in front of our house loading up the stuff from the garage! He lost them going into an apartment complex near the house. He said they looked pretty cruddy and they were in an old beat up white truck but he couldn't get close enough to get the license plate number.
