Yay! .....It's Easter Break!

I have worked a grueling 4 days and am now off for 4 days......I am sooooo happy! The kids are off for 4 days, too, but Jessica will be going on the BETA trip to Dallas on Monday and we'll have to get her to the school by 4:00 am! She won't return until Tuesday at 5:30 pm. Alyssa has her first orthodontic appointment scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. We're hoping for beautiful teeth! (eventually)

Last Saturday, we went to the SPCA and brought home our newest family member.

Meet Sadie. She is a long-haired Chihuahua. She is a very sweet dog and needs just a little training and she'll be a wonderful addition to our family.
Tomorrow morning, Sadie will go to the VCA Animal Hospital to get her check up to make sure that she has no major heath problems. Jess and I will go to see Judi to get our hair cut and Jess will get hi-lights put in her hair again.
Saturday is Jessica's 12th birthday. We'll probably go to a movie and to dinner to celebrate. We're having a combined family birthday party for both girls sometime around the end of April and we'll invite the whole family. Hopefully, it will be warm enough to swim.
Easter is on Sunday and we're having the whole family will be coming over to our house to celebrate. We'll be hiding Easter eggs for Ethan and Ryan......bring your baskets boys!

Wow!! Is it that time already????

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am so far behind on writing on my blog and summer vacation is over and school has started!!!!!!! The girls and I went on vacation last week to Galveston Island and stayed at the San Louis hotel, which Jessica only just recently stopped calling it the St. Luis. Donna and Brianna met us there and stayed at the same hotel. The first day, we stopped off at the beach and built sand castles. The second day we went to Moody Gardens Palm Beach and the rest of the time we spent at the hotel pool which was just beautiful! It's Official!

As of Sunday, I am officially the mother of a teenager. Wow! I can only hope that the next 5 years go as smoothly as the first 13 did. I can also hope that I don't get paid back for Glenn's wild teenage years. From what I understand, they were doozies!! We celebrated Jessica's big 13th birthday with a family party on Sunday. We had hoped that we would have had enough warm weather to warm the pool up for swimming, but it's been on the cool side during the nights and so the pool was no where near being warm enough to swim in. Well, except for crazy Alyssa who cannon-ba lled into the pool. Jessica got Band Hero for her birthday Alyssa loves to play guitar but even more than that, she loves to sing. I think this is her "Rock Band" face. One of the other things Jessica got for her birthday was a pitching net. We've Been Robbed!!

The girls and I got home today around 5:00 pm, pulled the car into the garage and then unloaded the groceries that I had picked up earlier. I left the garage door opened as I have every day since I can remember. Around 6:30, we heard tires screeching outside and both girls ran down the stairs to see what it was that was making that horrible sound. We went outside and saw the tire tracks on the street but no cars that we could see. About 2 minutes later, I got a call from Glenn on his cell phone and he said that he was chasing down a truck that had been in front of our house loading up the stuff from the garage! He lost them going into an apartment complex near the house. He said they looked pretty cruddy and they were in an old beat up white truck but he couldn't get close enough to get the license plate number.
