Jess' Birthday & Easter

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESS!!

We celebrated Jessica's birthday on Saturday.....It was All Jess, All day! She decided that she wanted to go to the movies to see "Monsters VS Aliens" and then out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. She started the day by ordering her breakfast.....she wanted a ham and cheese omlet :) Then she opened her presents. She got a basketball goal, new basketball, skateboard and a Fusion scooter as well as some "girlie" stuff!

She shares her birthday with her cousin, Ethan, so we went to Chuckie Cheese's in the morning to have his party. After we got back from the party, while Glenn was setting up the basketball goal, Alyssa was playing with Maggie and for some reason, the dog bit her on her bottom lip. Very uncommon for her and I was expecting it to be the new dog, not Maggie! So when Alyssa told me it was Maggie that bit her, I was very suprised! Well, this threw a wrench into the "All Jess, All Day" scenario that Jessica had pictured. We spent the next hour and a half calling around to see if it was serious enough to be taken to the emergency room. We called the Insurance Company to see if there were any Urgent Care facilities that were covered. Then I called the pediatricians office, got the answering service and had to wait for a call back. A nurse from Texas Children's hospital called and talked to Glenn and said it didn't sound to her like it would need to be sutured but that she would have a doctor give us a call. A doctor called us back within a few minutes and also said that it didn't sound like it would need to be sutured but if it looked like it was getting infected, that I was to bring her to her pediatrician's office on Monday. He said that lips and gums were very "forgiving" when they were injured, and he was right! By the following day, the gap had filled and was well on it's way to healing and with no sign of any infection.....we were VERY lucky!
So after that ordeal, we were a litte behind schedule for Jess' birthday plans. We ended up going to the 7:30 pm movie and then to dinner after that. We got home around 10:30 and then it was off to bed to get ready for Easter morning.
The girls got up and checked out their Easter Baskets, then we got ready and went to 9:30 mass at St. Max's. We were home by 11:00 and then got together with my family for Easter dinner. After the rainy morning, the afternoon turned out just beautiful. The girls hid Easter eggs for Ethan and Ryan and I think everyone had a wonderful day.
