It's Over???




The Lazy days of summer


It's over??? Already??? What happened to summer vacation? Alyssa started back to school on Friday and Jessica starts next Monday. I guess that means that Summer is officially over and done.....right?


Well, you would think that, but it's been 100+ degrees for the past 15 days. We're cooking.......literally! I don't think there will be a REAL end to summer for quite some time.

Let me back up a bit......





This says it all



At the start of the girls summer vacation, they both took tennis lessons from Rivera Tennis Academy and the Houston Tennis Association. Jessica wants to play tennis at JVHS and she thought this would be a great opportunity to get in some practice.


Both girls came down with Strepp Throat about mid-June.



We celebrated Glenn's birthday out at the new improved "Little House".

Alyssa went to Dance Camp to learn some new dances. She is now a Stingerett on the dance team.


Back in July, we went to San Antonio for vacation. We stayed at the La Mansion (Omni) on the Riverwalk. We got 2 connecting rooms so that we all wouldn't be cramped into one room.

Did I hear someone say Buc-ees??? ......or Schlitterbahn??? ......or Six Flags Fiesta Texas??? .....or the Alamo??? ......or???? Okay, you get the picture.

We did all that touristy stuff plus we did Ripley's Haunted Adventure and the Guinness Book of World Records. It was a great vacation, but we're hoping next year to venture a little further away from home.


Friday, Alyssa started school and is now in junior high.


Last week, I registered Jess for High School. She has freshman orientation coming up on Saturday and then she starts school on Monday.


I guess that's it! I now need to take a deep breath as we plunge head-first into the new school year. Wish me luck.....I'm gonna need it!

Wow!! Is it that time already????

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am so far behind on writing on my blog and summer vacation is over and school has started!!!!!!! The girls and I went on vacation last week to Galveston Island and stayed at the San Louis hotel, which Jessica only just recently stopped calling it the St. Luis. Donna and Brianna met us there and stayed at the same hotel. The first day, we stopped off at the beach and built sand castles. The second day we went to Moody Gardens Palm Beach and the rest of the time we spent at the hotel pool which was just beautiful! Papa picked the kids up from school since Nana is still in Alaska......we really miss her!! She has been gone for 2 weeks and should be back by Tuesday morning. It's Official!

As of Sunday, I am officially the mother of a teenager. Wow! I can only hope that the next 5 years go as smoothly as the first 13 did. I can also hope that I don't get paid back for Glenn's wild teenage years. From what I understand, they were doozies!! We celebrated Jessica's big 13th birthday with a family party on Sunday. We had hoped that we would have had enough warm weather to warm the pool up for swimming, but it's been on the cool side during the nights and so the pool was no where near being warm enough to swim in. Well, except for crazy Alyssa who cannon-ba lled into the pool. Jessica got Band Hero for her birthday Alyssa loves to play guitar but even more than that, she loves to sing. I think this is her "Rock Band" face. One of the other things Jessica got for her birthday was a pitching net. Last weekend, we spent Easter at my sister's house and my girls hid Easter eggs for Ethan and Ryan. .......And last but not least......Meet the newest

We've Been Robbed!!

The girls and I got home today around 5:00 pm, pulled the car into the garage and then unloaded the groceries that I had picked up earlier. I left the garage door opened as I have every day since I can remember. Around 6:30, we heard tires screeching outside and both girls ran down the stairs to see what it was that was making that horrible sound. We went outside and saw the tire tracks on the street but no cars that we could see. About 2 minutes later, I got a call from Glenn on his cell phone and he said that he was chasing down a truck that had been in front of our house loading up the stuff from the garage! He lost them going into an apartment complex near the house. He said they looked pretty cruddy and they were in an old beat up white truck but he couldn't get close enough to get the license plate number.
