Cheer Camps are Over! ......For now

Cheer Camp is now officially over. At least the practice sessions are over..........we'll probably be hearing cheers from Jess and Alyssa for several weeks to come!

St. Pius Cheer Camp was last week and both girls attended and learned lots of new material. Jessica will have a few more practices in a couple of weeks to get ready for "Meet the Hornets" night. Afterwards, the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade kids will have a dance and she is very excited about that, too. She is already planning on what she will wear.


The 4 of us did manage to get out and see "Journey to the Center of the Earth" last weekend, though not in 3D. It turned out to be pretty entertaining. Then we went out to dinner.....my last before I started my 7 day detox, of which I went for 5 days. I stopped over this past weekend and will start up again on Monday. During the 7 days you are only supposed to eat raw fruits and veggies. Sounds like it would be pretty hard but after the first two days it got much easier and I didn't crave the bad stuff anymore. I guess we'll see how it goes this next week. :)


This weekend, we got chores finished up and then went swimming! The pictures are of the girls enjoying their Daiquiris. Next Sunday, we're having a girls afternoon for me the girls and some friends of mine and their kids.....it ought to be a blast!

Wow!! Is it that time already????

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am so far behind on writing on my blog and summer vacation is over and school has started!!!!!!! The girls and I went on vacation last week to Galveston Island and stayed at the San Louis hotel, which Jessica only just recently stopped calling it the St. Luis. Donna and Brianna met us there and stayed at the same hotel. The first day, we stopped off at the beach and built sand castles. The second day we went to Moody Gardens Palm Beach and the rest of the time we spent at the hotel pool which was just beautiful! Papa picked the kids up from school since Nana is still in Alaska......we really miss her!! She has been gone for 2 weeks and should be back by Tuesday morning. It's Official!

As of Sunday, I am officially the mother of a teenager. Wow! I can only hope that the next 5 years go as smoothly as the first 13 did. I can also hope that I don't get paid back for Glenn's wild teenage years. From what I understand, they were doozies!! We celebrated Jessica's big 13th birthday with a family party on Sunday. We had hoped that we would have had enough warm weather to warm the pool up for swimming, but it's been on the cool side during the nights and so the pool was no where near being warm enough to swim in. Well, except for crazy Alyssa who cannon-ba lled into the pool. Jessica got Band Hero for her birthday Alyssa loves to play guitar but even more than that, she loves to sing. I think this is her "Rock Band" face. One of the other things Jessica got for her birthday was a pitching net. Last weekend, we spent Easter at my sister's house and my girls hid Easter eggs for Ethan and Ryan. .......And last but not least......Meet the newest

We've Been Robbed!!

The girls and I got home today around 5:00 pm, pulled the car into the garage and then unloaded the groceries that I had picked up earlier. I left the garage door opened as I have every day since I can remember. Around 6:30, we heard tires screeching outside and both girls ran down the stairs to see what it was that was making that horrible sound. We went outside and saw the tire tracks on the street but no cars that we could see. About 2 minutes later, I got a call from Glenn on his cell phone and he said that he was chasing down a truck that had been in front of our house loading up the stuff from the garage! He lost them going into an apartment complex near the house. He said they looked pretty cruddy and they were in an old beat up white truck but he couldn't get close enough to get the license plate number.
