Our Week in a Nutshell..........

There were quite a few things that happened this week that I haven't gotten to blog about yet and a few that I have but bear with me while I mention them again. This post will be a kind of pictorial......our week in pictures!

Alyssa's girl scout troop delivered the cookies that they baked last Friday to an Assisted Living Facility for the elderly. I think both the girls and the older people all enjoyed it VERY much. Each person living there received a bag of cookies on their doorknob, made with love!


On Wednesday, it snowed for the first time in 4 years and the kids got to play in what little fell at our house but they got to play in a little more while they were still at their Nana and Papa's house right after school.

On Thursday, Jessica got her Letterman's jacket for being in cheerleading. She will also get a patch for being in BETA and she wants to try out for the volleyball team next year and she will be able to get a patch for that too. She'll have that jacket filled up in no time!On Friday, we started our weekend by just kicking back and watching Frosty the Snowman on tv.

Saturday, Jessica started studying for the mid-terms she has to take this week. Her first two are on Monday.........social studies and language arts. Wish her luck! We all went to church on Saturday evening and then went to the Dollar Tree to get some things for the Christmas gifts for the kids in her class. We also wrapped up all the gifts for the needy Christmas families that the St. Ambrose classes sponsor each year. We'll need to get those up to the school on Monday for delivery to the families.

Sunday, Jess did her special Christmas dance with her cheerleading squad at the Downtown Aquarium. They all got the wristbands to get on the rides and so they were kept busy for most of the afternoon. Alyssa's friend Rachel was also there to watch her cousing perform so she had someone to play with while Jess hung out with her friends. Nana went with us to watch and then we went for a late lunch at Hunan's for Chinese food. We got the buffet and I think the kids got their money's worth! They ate a little of everything.

Well, that was our week in a nutshell. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep up with the blog better this next week, but if not, don't hold it against me......Christmas is fast approaching and I have yet to finish my shopping!!

Wow!! Is it that time already????

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am so far behind on writing on my blog and summer vacation is over and school has started!!!!!!! The girls and I went on vacation last week to Galveston Island and stayed at the San Louis hotel, which Jessica only just recently stopped calling it the St. Luis. Donna and Brianna met us there and stayed at the same hotel. The first day, we stopped off at the beach and built sand castles. The second day we went to Moody Gardens Palm Beach and the rest of the time we spent at the hotel pool which was just beautiful! It's Official!

As of Sunday, I am officially the mother of a teenager. Wow! I can only hope that the next 5 years go as smoothly as the first 13 did. I can also hope that I don't get paid back for Glenn's wild teenage years. From what I understand, they were doozies!! We celebrated Jessica's big 13th birthday with a family party on Sunday. We had hoped that we would have had enough warm weather to warm the pool up for swimming, but it's been on the cool side during the nights and so the pool was no where near being warm enough to swim in. Well, except for crazy Alyssa who cannon-ba lled into the pool. Jessica got Band Hero for her birthday Alyssa loves to play guitar but even more than that, she loves to sing. I think this is her "Rock Band" face. One of the other things Jessica got for her birthday was a pitching net. Last weekend, we spent Easter at my sister's house and my girls hid Easter eggs for Ethan and Ryan. .......And last but not least......Meet the newest

We've Been Robbed!!

The girls and I got home today around 5:00 pm, pulled the car into the garage and then unloaded the groceries that I had picked up earlier. I left the garage door opened as I have every day since I can remember. Around 6:30, we heard tires screeching outside and both girls ran down the stairs to see what it was that was making that horrible sound. We went outside and saw the tire tracks on the street but no cars that we could see. About 2 minutes later, I got a call from Glenn on his cell phone and he said that he was chasing down a truck that had been in front of our house loading up the stuff from the garage! He lost them going into an apartment complex near the house. He said they looked pretty cruddy and they were in an old beat up white truck but he couldn't get close enough to get the license plate number.
