Happy New Year!!

Before we go forward to blog about the New Year, (which by the way is 2011!), we have to look back at the last two months that I failed to blog about. I think I left off somewhere around Halloween on my last post, which just makes me look really pathetic, right??

We celebrated Thanksgiving out at "Little House" this year. We somehow managed to get Lauren and Brandon there on the same year as us. That usually doesn't happen and one set of kids will be there for Thanksgiving one year and the other set of kids will be there the next......just never at the same time. This year, ALL the kids were there and they had a wonderful time being together, feeding Lily, eating snowcones, and playing in the hay barn.

The Friday before Christmas vacation, the girls had their school Christmas program and parties. This was Alyssa's last year to be in the program. Her class represented all of the different countries in the world that came to see the baby Jesus. She was a Jamaican girl......yes, my little blonde haired blue eyed girl was representing Jamaica....LOL! She also played the bells in the hand bell choir. After the program, both girls had their Christmas parties, then they each brought home a friend for a "Christmas Break Sleepover". We made cookies, watched movies and had a campfire in the backyard. We roasted everything we could find in the fridge......marshmallows, onion, garlic, potatoes and bacon. Man was that a yummy campfire roast.....NOT! We rode to the Willow Lake park the next morning and fed the ducks and geese and took a little hike.

Roasting bacon.......yummy, right??

Christmas snuck up really quick this year....Christmas cards went out later than usual and it just seemed like I was always running behind and trying to catch up. Christmas Eve was at our house and we had a blast. We decided to play the White Elephant gift game this year instead of exchanging gifts. The big prize of the evening ended up being the "I Survived the Milner's Christmas Party" sweatshirt. My sister ended up getting the shirt after a lot of fun stealing from each other. I can't wait til we play that game again! We played it again on Christmas day as well as the timed dice gift game. We always have so much fun playing those games.

That was the ending to 2010.......the beginning to 2011 was a little quieter this year. I took the girls out to the movies on New Years Eve. We saw Gullivers Travels, with Jack Black, and I laughed my head off! Glenn worked, so we went out to dinner at Tia's with mom, the Kibler girls and the Kavanagh girls.
2011 has already started out moving way too fast. We're getting ready for the Valentines day fundraiser at school as well as the BETA Convention, the Steps 4 Students 5K run and 8th grade graduation. Alyssa has gotten her bottom and top expanders removed and we're just waiting on her top retainer....the bottom expander fell out before Christmas vacation and so that retainer was put on before Christmas. We're almost through with phase 1 for her and almost finished with phase 1 for Jessica, too! Next up this month is RyRy's birthday and then Vicki's birthday. Oh! And also the Academic Rally at St. Pius.....busy, busy, busy. :)
HAPPY NEW YEARS - 2011!!!!!
