Time For a Little Catching Up.......

Can you believe that we're already into the middle of February? The kiddos are keeping me extra busy lately. Alyssa has had Girl Scout stuff going on, cookie sales, meetings, science fair, school projects, and she got her braces off....you name it she's doing it. Jessica's 8th grade class has been having fundraisers non-stop all year and we had to pick up and deliver our cookie dough that we sold. On Sunday, we also had to put together our Valentine's packages at the school, which was also an 8th grade fundraiser. Jessica has decided to join the track team at school and is practicing on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Both girls still have tumbling on Tuesdays, so Jessica should be one tired girl on Tuesday nights.

Sunday was the day before Valentines Day and after Jess and I packed Valentines at the school, we celebrated our Valentines Day a little early. We made beef tenderloin, sauteed spinach and augratin potatoes and Glenn and I drank champagne and the kids drank sparkling grape juice. Glenn and the girls bought me perfume and a strawberry planter kit. I can't wait to grow some fresh strawberries.

Okay, now that's actually the good stuff going on. There was also bad........."Little House" caught on fire the evening of January 20th....the day before Vicki's 50th birthday. The wind was so strong that night that the flames just took over and most of the house was destroyed. If there was any good news to come out of this was that some of Vic's heirloom keepsakes were found in the ashes and debris. The insurance has come through and a new "Little House" is on the horizon! Hopefully, within the next 6 months, everything will be completed. We just need to keep the neighbors from setting any more fires in the hayfield. Looks like there was another close call a few days ago when a neighbor was burning tree stumps and the hayfield caught fire......too close for comfort!

Coming up soon, we'll be celebrating my birthday (2/25) as well as Lauren's (2/24), Roxannes (2/28), Mom's (3/6) and Joshies (3/20). Jessica will be getting her braces on soon, she'll be going on her BETA club trip to Austin, and her Graduation trip to San Antonio as well as 8th grade graduation. Ready, Set, Go!
