Time For a Little Catching Up.......

Image
Can you believe that we're already into the middle of February? The kiddos are keeping me extra busy lately. Alyssa has had Girl Scout stuff going on, cookie sales, meetings, science fair, school projects, and she got her braces off....you name it she's doing it. Jessica's 8th grade class has been having fundraisers non-stop all year and we had to pick up and deliver our cookie dough that we sold. On Sunday, we also had to put together our Valentine's packages at the school, which was also an 8th grade fundraiser. Jessica has decided to join the track team at school and is practicing on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Both girls still have tumbling on Tuesdays, so Jessica should be one tired girl on Tuesday nights. Sunday was the day before Valentines Day and after Jess and I packed Valentines at the school, we celebrated our Valentines Day a little early. We made beef tenderloin, sauteed spinach and augratin potatoes and Glenn and I drank champagne and the kids drank s...

Happy New Year!!

Before we go forward to blog about the New Year, (which by the way is 2011!), we have to look back at the last two months that I failed to blog about. I think I left off somewhere around Halloween on my last post, which just makes me look really pathetic, right?? We celebrated Thanksgiving out at "Little House" this year. We somehow managed to get Lauren and Brandon there on the same year as us. That usually doesn't happen and one set of kids will be there for Thanksgiving one year and the other set of kids will be there the next......just never at the same time. This year, ALL the kids were there and they had a wonderful time being together, feeding Lily, eating snowcones, and playing in the hay barn. Feeding time at the tree stump Kids in the hay barn Lily enjoying her "me" time The Friday before Christmas vacation, the girls had their school Christmas program and parties. This was Alyssa's last year to be in the program. Her class represented all of the d...

Time For A Little Rambling

Image
It's been so long since I've been here that I don't even know where to begin, so bear with me and I'll try not to ramble on. School started over a month ago and boy is it in full swing. Jessica was going to try out for the SAS Volleyball team but decided against it at the last minute. She really loves her tumbling class and thought that it might interfer with it. She'd rather tumble than anything. Alyssa also started tumbling at the beginning of September and really loves it, too. We've already had several tests and I'm trying my best to make sure that Alyssa makes decent grades but she's struggling with several of her classes. We've also had Spirit Week at school and the kids have worn crazy shoes & socks, crazy ties & hats, crazy hair & face, and pajama bottoms and spirit shirts. Jessica is on the Yearbook Staff and is having fun. Alyssa goes to Camp Kappe next week and will be gone from Tuesday through Friday......we're going to mi...

Alyssa's Ballet Recital Practice

Fun at Cypress Academy

It's Back to School Time......Already??

Well, Summer vacation is over for the Milner girls. They went back to school last Friday. I think their school is the earliest starting school in the area. Most public schools don't start until this coming Monday. We've been at it for over a week.......Go Figure. Back to school started out with a "bang". We just started and we've already been given our first fund raiser for Jessica's 8th grade trip. We've also already received emails about donating for the class Gala baskets. Oh! And I have to do parking lot duty next week, too! Lucky me! Opening scene of dance from Swan Lake The End! Last weekend, Alyssa had her recital for her ballet class at the Cypress Academy of Performing Arts. For the Fall season, they don't have a ballet class late enough for us to make it to, so she has decided to take tumbling and see how she likes it. Jessica had evaluations during her last tumbling class and she is now in "intermediate" tumbling....Yay!!
