It seems like I haven't written on this blog, in like, forever! Well, I guess a week is a really long time when I had gotten used to writing every day. It has been kind of hectic in our house with Alyssa trying to learn all of the multiplication tables and the state capitols. Jess has been having cheer practice twice a week because the squad will be doing a Christmas dance and cheer at the downtown Aquarium on December 14th. Alyssa has to dress up as a saint on Monday, so we're in the process of trying to come up with costume for St. Lucia, or St. Lucy. She was the patron saint of blindness, so Alyssa will dress up and carry a bowl of eyes, although she says she doesn't really want to do that. We have the crown already made, since Jessica was this same saint when she was in pre-k.

We celebrated Donna M's birthday this past Saturday evening at Babin's. The food was great and I think the kids tried things they had never eaten before. I always like it when they try new things. Sunday, I was able to get some more early Christmas shopping done. I hope to have it done early this year :)

I can't believe that next week will already be Thanksgiving. Time sure flies these days!

Wow!! Is it that time already????

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am so far behind on writing on my blog and summer vacation is over and school has started!!!!!!! The girls and I went on vacation last week to Galveston Island and stayed at the San Louis hotel, which Jessica only just recently stopped calling it the St. Luis. Donna and Brianna met us there and stayed at the same hotel. The first day, we stopped off at the beach and built sand castles. The second day we went to Moody Gardens Palm Beach and the rest of the time we spent at the hotel pool which was just beautiful! It's Official!

As of Sunday, I am officially the mother of a teenager. Wow! I can only hope that the next 5 years go as smoothly as the first 13 did. I can also hope that I don't get paid back for Glenn's wild teenage years. From what I understand, they were doozies!! We celebrated Jessica's big 13th birthday with a family party on Sunday. We had hoped that we would have had enough warm weather to warm the pool up for swimming, but it's been on the cool side during the nights and so the pool was no where near being warm enough to swim in. Well, except for crazy Alyssa who cannon-ba lled into the pool. Jessica got Band Hero for her birthday Alyssa loves to play guitar but even more than that, she loves to sing. I think this is her "Rock Band" face. One of the other things Jessica got for her birthday was a pitching net. We've Been Robbed!!

The girls and I got home today around 5:00 pm, pulled the car into the garage and then unloaded the groceries that I had picked up earlier. I left the garage door opened as I have every day since I can remember. Around 6:30, we heard tires screeching outside and both girls ran down the stairs to see what it was that was making that horrible sound. We went outside and saw the tire tracks on the street but no cars that we could see. About 2 minutes later, I got a call from Glenn on his cell phone and he said that he was chasing down a truck that had been in front of our house loading up the stuff from the garage! He lost them going into an apartment complex near the house. He said they looked pretty cruddy and they were in an old beat up white truck but he couldn't get close enough to get the license plate number.
