It's Over???

Image
The Lazy days of summer It's over??? Already??? What happened to summer vacation? Alyssa started back to school on Friday and Jessica starts next Monday. I guess that means that Summer is officially over and done.....right? Well, you would think that, but it's been 100+ degrees for the past 15 days. We're cooking.......literally! I don't think there will be a REAL end to summer for quite some time. Furniture surfing??? Let me back up a bit...... This says it all At the start of the girls summer vacation, they both took tennis lessons from Rivera Tennis Academy and the Houston Tennis Association. Jessica wants to play tennis at JVHS and she thought this would be a great opportunity to get in some practice. Both girls came down with Strepp Throat about mid-June. We celebrated Glenn's birthday out at the new improved "Little House". Please do NOT ask me why I only had 2 candles.... You won't like...

May Birthday Palooza....And other stuff

Well.....uh, I......uh, hmmm.....sorry, but I just can't seem to come up with a really valid reason for not visiting here more often. I guess if you look at the pictures, you can see that I've been really busy, right? I know, I know, lots of busy people blog. Some every day. Some several times a day. I guess I'll just have to pull myself away from Facebook long enough to blog more frequently! We really did have a busy last two months. We celebrated Easter, Donna's 50th birthday, Mother's Day (for multiple mothers!), all of the May birthdays and Jessica's 8th grade graduation. We even had a few other things thrown into the mix, like our spontaneous trip to Surfside, Alyssa's horse riding session, Jessica's 8th grade trip and 8th grade breakfast and Ethan's Kindergarten graduation. Once again......the past two months in pictures. Surfside Beach - Look at all that seaweed! Alyssa - frolicking in the surf Never too old to dye Easter Eggs! Easter Morning...

Do I remember how to blog?

Image
Hmmmm.....Once again. I'm not gonna say it. Do I even remember how? Okay, let's get started. Today is April 20, 2011. The day before my sister's 50th birthday. Happy early birthday, Donna Kay! It's also the Wednesday before Easter. That's a good thing, 'cause I get Friday off. I guess I'll start going backwards from here. This past weekend, we celebrated Jessica's 14th birthday. Let me pause here to take a deep breath and say again, we celebrated Jessica's 14th birthday! I feel old. We had all of the family over and a really great time. Jessica got lots of really nice things for her birthday, too. Before the family arrived, Jessica had a track meet to attend at Barnett Stadium towards south Houston. I had to take her and pick her up as well as get ready for the party all before everyone arrived. I guess that makes me Super Mom......SM. Think about it and it will all make sense. We celebrated Jessica's ACTUAL birthday on Monday April 11th by goin...

Time For a Little Catching Up.......

Can you believe that we're already into the middle of February? The kiddos are keeping me extra busy lately. Alyssa has had Girl Scout stuff going on, cookie sales, meetings, science fair, school projects, and she got her braces off....you name it she's doing it. Jessica's 8th grade class has been having fundraisers non-stop all year and we had to pick up and deliver our cookie dough that we sold. On Sunday, we also had to put together our Valentine's packages at the school, which was also an 8th grade fundraiser. Jessica has decided to join the track team at school and is practicing on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Both girls still have tumbling on Tuesdays, so Jessica should be one tired girl on Tuesday nights. Sunday was the day before Valentines Day and after Jess and I packed Valentines at the school, we celebrated our Valentines Day a little early. We made beef tenderloin, sauteed spinach and augratin potatoes and Glenn and I drank champagne and the kids drank s...

Happy New Year!!

Image
Before we go forward to blog about the New Year, (which by the way is 2011!), we have to look back at the last two months that I failed to blog about. I think I left off somewhere around Halloween on my last post, which just makes me look really pathetic, right?? We celebrated Thanksgiving out at "Little House" this year. We somehow managed to get Lauren and Brandon there on the same year as us. That usually doesn't happen and one set of kids will be there for Thanksgiving one year and the other set of kids will be there the next......just never at the same time. This year, ALL the kids were there and they had a wonderful time being together, feeding Lily, eating snowcones, and playing in the hay barn. Feeding time at the tree stump Kids in the hay barn Lily enjoying her "me" time The Friday before Christmas vacation, the girls had their school Christmas program and parties. This was Alyssa's last year to be in the program. Her class represented all of the d...
